What Is KOFIVE?

Kofive is developed in response to the need for website designers to provide their clients with an easy-to-use way to update the content of their own websites.

Sure, some website designers jealously guard their code and their billable hours, rubbing their hands together in glee at the thought of being able to bill their clients every time they want to make even a minor change to the website.

I don't believe in that. I firmly do NOT believe in "milking" clients for nickels and dimes, or worse, billing them for two hours work (because that's "my minimum") when it really only took me 40 minutes to do the work.

No, I want to design great websites for my clients, and then go on to the next client, without having to worry about doing the little things, especially if I can enable them to do those updates themselves and save a bunch of time and a bunch of money.

So I began to develop the Kofive technology.

There's more to it than that, of course, but you can read all about it on the History/Philosophy page.

As of now, it works well - see the How It Works page - but there's still a long way to go. Want to help? See the Future Plans page.

If you're a web developer, you can very easily implement this technology yourself, but you can also save yourself a lot of work by purchasing a customizable Kofive Key and/or a printed User Guidebook. See our Purchase page for this.

For any other questions, comments, or suggestions, please see our Contact page.

I hope you can make good use of this technology, and help all web designers gain a better reputation for customer friendliness and responsiveness.

This website is under constant development.

Please bear with us as we continue to develop both the Kofive concept and the website to support it.

Thank you for your patience.

We have recently completed developing this website. Actually, as this paragraph is being written, we still have yet to write the forms on the Contact page, but that's next. By the time you read this, they should be done.

The Kofive technology is based on four open source applications, all of which are available for Windows, Macs, and Linux machines.

Because of this , the use of this Kofive technology concept is yours to use in your own web design business; I hope you get some ecstatic customers from it.

If you'd like to support the Kofive Project, and make it even better for everyone, you can do so first by making a financial contribution (click here to contribute) - any amount will go to help pay for the web hosting for this account, and thank you. Or you can go to our Future Plans page and see if you can help with some coding on some of the concepts there; or you can submit your own ideas and suggestions for how we can make this technology even better.
